In December 2011, Open Family Australia merged with like-minded youth organisation, Whitelion. In the seven months since, both organisations have worked to come together with a particular focus on achieving efficiencies in back office areas such as finance, HR, marketing and fundraising.

As part of this amalgamation, head office staff from Open Family Australia and Whitelion relocated from their respective offices to come together in a new building in West Melbourne in late July.

About Whitelion

Whitelion is a not-for-profit organisation that supports young people at-risk to reach their full potential. Whitelion opens doors to opportunities, relationships and community for young people involved in the Youth Justice System or at risk of involvement. This is achieved through role modelling, mentoring, employment and indigenous programs, outreach services, and through prevention programs run in rural and metropolitan communities. Whitelion provides youth-focused, gender and culturallyspecific services that change young peopleís lives, operating in Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania and South Australia.
