At Open Family Australia, we believe that health and fitness is a way to engage young people and stop them from making detrimental decisions regarding their wellbeing. Wellbeing programs are cornerstones to turning young people's lives around through sport, healthy eating and health education.
Sport engages young people to become involved, to develop self esteem and to learn how to become part of a team and the wider community.
Through regular and structured physical activity, Open Family Australia's wellbeing programs aim to provide a foundation for positive physical and mental health outcomes, a constructive outlet for frustration and boredom and the development of skills in the areas of sport, leadership and social inclusion.
Open Family Australia believes that group activities in a fun, social environment provide young people with the interaction and communication skills so important for them throughout life. Our workers conduct a series of recreational activities through the year enabling young people who are both financially and socially disadvantaged to experience fun filled activities and sporting events.
