Open Family Australia welcomes workplace giving partners.  Workplace giving is a very simple way to show your support for our at-risk and homeless youth while saving you tax.  Employees can contribute via their salaries through a weekly, monthly or quarterly donation pre-tax. 

As a workplace giving partner, you will be sent a quarterly e-newsletter to update everyone in your organisation on Open Family Australia's programs and how your contribution is helping young people get off the streets and back into their communities.

Leaving a bequest to Open Family Australia can help a future generation of Australians.

Through leaving a bequest, you can help young people to find the courage to choose a better future. A bequest doesn’t have to be a great deal of money to make it worthwhile. Every gift makes a difference. Your bequest gift is a means of showing how much you care and is a lifelong legacy.

A gift in your Will brings lasting hope to many young people who are homeless in our community, or at-risk of becoming homeless. We believe everyone deserves a home. With your help, we are providing young people with the life skills and support they need to break the cycle of poverty and hopelessness and build a better future.

Why do I need a will?

Making a Will is the only way to ensure that your wishes will be granted after you have gone.

We recognise that writing a Will is one of the most personal and significant decisions you will ever make. Leaving clear instructions and sharing your decisions with your loved ones can give you the peace of mind that your final wishes will be understood and respected after you’ve gone.

Can I change my Will?

You are able to change your Will at any time to reflect your changing priorities, whether that be the purchase or sale of a property, moving house, marriage, the birth of children or grandchildren or loss of a loved one.

What do I need to do?

You may engage a Solicitor, State or Public Trustee or Trustee Company to write your Will. Seeking professional advice is the best way to make sure the correct wording is used to avoid potential mistakes and misunderstandings regarding your wishes.

What type of bequest?

There are several ways to leave a bequest:

Gift the residue of your estate, once you have provided for your family

Gift a percentage of your net estate

Gift a lump sum

Gift a specific item

The legal entity for the purposes of nomination in a Will is:

The following wording is suggested and may be used as a starting point in the preparation of your Will:
SPECIFIC SUM
"I give the sum of $ ___________ OR
"I give [fully identify item] free from all encumbrances OR
"I give (_____ percent of) my residuary estate

to Open Family Australia (ABN 49 724 845 604)/ Whitelion (ABN 15 347 659 323) of 155 Roden Street West Melbourne Victoria 3003 for its general purposes and I declare that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer shall be sufficient discharge to my Trustee who shall not be obliged to see to the application of this legacy."
